I have an opportunity to add to my addictive 24 collection. Was looking for a Yote gun and ran into a 24V in .222 over 20 gauge. Does anyone here have experience shooting this with open sights at a coyote 100 - 200 meters away? I was looking for a .223 but I can't ever seem to turn up a 24. This gun is very good +++ condition. The guy wants $600 shipped to my door? Reasonable for a hard to find chambered 24? I live in Canada, so I'm limited to availability (can't buy from U.S. gun sites), the 24V in .222/20 doesn't come up very often. Please, someone talk me into....uhhh, I mean talk me out of buying this beauty.

I have the same gun and its very effective for coyotes but I'm using a scope at 200 meters--the open sights (for me) lose effectivness at 125-150 meters.$600 is a lot more than I'd be willing to pay (in the US anyway) I think the 24V 222 is worth about 350-450 but a 223 gun would be closer to the $600 range although thats still a little on the high side.

The market changes constantly and someone saying they wouldn't pay $600 means just that. That one person might not pay $600, but these guns are going anywhere from $500 to $755 depending on condition. Most common selling price on Gunbroker in the last 90 days is from $605 to $660 plus shipping charges. Check it out for yourself. Back search on Gunbroker. I'll be breaking mine in for preditor hunting next week in southern KY. I just took it (.222/20) to the range with a 6-24 power scope. I was looking at 1-1.5" inch groups at 100yrds, but only when I was willing to let the barrel cool for long periods between shots. This is consistent with what I get out of my 30-30/20. However, I'd happily expect that of a 30-30, but not be very impressed with it on a .222. I'm anxious to pattern it at 200+ yards. I'm concerned about precision at long range with these.

Oh Yeah, and #3 buck shot from the 20 barrel consistently put 5-7 pellets on the paper at 35 & 40 yrds.

Here are the pics. I think the scope mey be a little too close for the barrel selector, but I'll try it to get a longer range. Isn't she beautiful. Al
