Just found this site. I enjoy it a lot. I wanted to show off my two 24's! The top one is a 24S-D, and the lower is a 24S-E. They both shoot well, and are fun to have. I had a question about the 24S-D. It does not have a serial number. Does anyone know when they started putting serial numbers on them? Thanks!

Great looking guns. I bet they are loads of fun! I do not know about the S#'s. What calibers/gauge are they? Were they in your family or did you buy em?

I bought the 24S-D (22 over .410) from a friend, and the 24S-E (22 over 20 gauge) at a pawnshop.
Thanks, Curt

Serial numbers became mandated by the 1968 firearms act.

I just finished up restoring a 24S-D I have tonight! Still need a rear sight.

Dave, I have 2 rear sights. One is the double dovetail version in the Numrich nomenclature for the S-D (which did not fit my S-D). The other is the 3/8" dovetail sight from "Early model" (which fit my S-D fine). I also have the ramps for them. I have to warn you, neither sight is very sturdy. I can give them to you if you pay shipping (USPS). Otherwise, I recommend this one: Marble rear sight. It is pretty close to the old Redfield sight I got on eBay. Super sturdy.
