So I am new to the forum and I greatly appreciate all the information I’ve been able to read here I have an early savage model 24 that somehow ended up with a pair of bent barrels what I’m looking for is a set of replacements 22 LR/410 or 22wmr/410 with a round extractor does anybody know where I may find a set? Also will the barrels off of a Stevens 22/410 fit an early savage 24? I may have a lead on a set of those any help is appreciated thank you very much

Big Kelly is the barrel expert. This is what he had to say...

How does one determine IF he has a 24V-A? I have a 24 with a 222/20 Barrel and the firing pin most definatly strikes the edge of the primer pocket, denting both the case and the Primer, but not going off...I had another one in 30-30/20 that I tried on the Frame with the same results. I'm inclined to believe the gun might have originally been something like 22mag/20, but have no history on it. At this point I'll likely part it out.

See the post "How to I.D.....". If your gun is a 24V-A, it should say so on the receiver.
