Hi folks, I'm new here and have a few questions I'm hoping you can help with.
I'm trying to help out a buddy with his Model 24, no serial number, slector button on the side, unsure of age but seems to be between 1959-1962. The selector button is jammed but rotates (spins) somewhat freely, the locking bolt assembly seems to be broken and I'm unable to get it out because I'm unable to get the top snap out. I've got the screw out but cannot seem to free the top snap sleeve to remove the top snap. Also, it does seem the selector is broken (not uncommon from what I've read).
Any advice/tips would be most welcome on how to get this 24 up and running.
Thanks, Yakster

You'll need to remove the stock--1st take the butt plate off then you can remove the stock--it requires a BIG slotted screw driver--in order to see whats going on inside--then you can decide whats needs to be replaced/fixed

Thanks for the reply. I should have stated that the stock is off, the mainspring removed and the pins have been drifted out.
Thank you
