i have a 24VS 20ga/357 maximum, barrels are satin nickel…receiver is steel with no bluing i am thinking of having the receiver finished with matching nickel question- would this affect (reduce) the value? I know this one is very collectable due to gauge combo so, dont want to materially affect the value the gun is in excellent condition except for the receiver thanks ahead for comments capt jack

IMHO, it wouldn't decrease nor increase the value. Even though this is one of the more desirable caliber combinations, either you must have one or you don't.

That model is a rare bird and a relevant question. As vancmike stated, rare enough that value would be hurt. Only the buyer can truly answer that question though - collectors can be rather finicky. They might wonder if the new finish is concealing damage that would otherwise hurt it. Some pictures of before re-finish would be smart.

Re-finishing isn't going to hurt the value. As old as these model Savage's are,any serious collector understands that finishes will degrade

A very rare and nice 24VS. I agree with refinishing. It’ll look great.
