so i just got a 24f .223 over 12. i was skeptical, but i love it. i used see thru leupold mounts and a fixed power 6x scope. i built a homemade adjustable cheek rest out of kydex. the front end is high and the rear end low. i get a fairly good cheek weld whether i am using scope or irons. it is threaded for chokes, but i quickly found out that with the turkey choke(which extends past the crown a few inches) that my .223 groups are way off. i got the tightest choke i could find that fits flush and patterns are good enough for turkey at 50 yds with 3" #4 shot. .223 is 2 moa at 150 yds from a bench with the lighter 40 gr hornady ballistic tips. the stock is the factory plastic camo, i used a spacer to set the head of the buttplate screw closer to the end of the pad so i can remove the pad with a penny. now the hollow is filled with cut-to-fit foam inserts that hold 4 .223 rounds and 2 12 ga rounds.
now i am interested in the M.C.A. adaptors. i can get the .223 to 22lr adaptor and a 10" rifled 12 ga to 38 special adaptor both for 136$ shipped! would really make this an all around gun.

Well I have some 223 and 222 adapters and I sold all my rim fire model 24's so I guess you can see what camp I'm in THEY WORK GREAT I use my mossberg 500 chokes in my 24F-they work GREAT Here's a neat way to shoot your 24F---bore out a spent 223 casing using a 1/4" bit--or one that is just a red c--t hair smaller then use a 209 shotgun primer to shoot 22 cal air pellets--the primers generate enough energy to shoot the pellet thru a 1x6 peice of PT wood--and very little noise
