So Chiappa is making a kind-of Mdl 24: www.chiappafirearms.com/products/137 , their "Double Badger." Comes in 22/410 or 22Mag/410.
I first became aware of this company when Lyman began selling their "Mini-Sharps" in various calibers. I couldn't decide between the 22 Hornet (which I already load for) or the 38-40 (which is a way-cool caliber) and apparently lay down and slept until the feeling passed.....
If you download their brochure, it shows the Double Badger (wonder how Italians know about badgers....most Americans have never seen one) in full view as well as open for loading. Looks like the breechblock is split in half, with the bottom-back half holding the trigger, (hammerless) hammer and hinge, and the front-top holding the barrels and extractors.....kind of an interesting idea.
The brochure shows wood that's less than inspiring: looks like floor-grade oak stained walnut. Some of the other brochure items look the same.
Their brochure shows some innovative products: a 3-barrel 12-gauge shotgun (comes in 18.5" and 28" barrels. I'd like to see the cute gal holding the shotgun fire it....tho admittedly, three giant barrels pointed at me would give one pause....).
Various other sort-of replica firearms are in the brochure: a single-action Colt with a 10-round 22 LR cylinder, Winchester 1887 shotgun replicas, as well as 1886, 1892 rifles and the aforementioned Sharps and Spencer replicas and so on. Obviously, a lot of their products are aimed at the Cowboy Action buyer.
There are no prices and I don't know where on goes to buy them.....why don't one of you get one and report to us?!!!!
