I picked up a nice 24V 222/20Ga from an estate,
When I shoot it I can shoot the 20Ga then the 222 barrel with no problem but when I shoot the 222 barrel first the action opens and I cannot shut it until I pull the spend round out.
If I shoot the 20Ga first the action stays closed until I shoot the 222 then it opens and will not close until I remove the round.
Anyone else have this problem?

I have a Savage 24V in .222/20Ga, and have never experienced this problem. Have you had the buttstock off to see if there is anything loose in the barrel break mechanism? Is there a lot of grease on the locking lug in the receiver? Have you taken the barrel off and operated the barrel break lever to observe the movement of the locking lug? Without touching the barrel break lever, with the barrel off, try to push on the locking lug to see how easy it moves. Sounds like something is "un-hitched" back there in the locking mechanism. Hope this helps. Please let us know what the problem was, so if we encounter it, we'll know how to fix it. Thanks and good luck.
