Ok mine was given by my grandfather. It had open toggle behind hammer, selector knob was round on right side of frame. Wooden fore stock snapped off to allow barrel to detach.it was definitely Savage Arms. 22/.410, o/hi want to locate and obtain a replacement since mine was stolen! Thanks for any help given. I hope I gave enough info. Thanks Again.

As slow as responses are on this site, you may be an old man before you find your replacement 24. Best to go to Gunbroker.com and create a "saved search" for simply "Savage 24" That way every time someone lists another 24 for sale, you are sent an e-mail. Creating a saved search with just the basic wording will ensure you don't miss your gun do to the seller's mis-listing the correct model number.

By the sound of it, it was an early model Savage 24 made between 1950 and 1962. It's the best I can do on the date with limited info. Hope it helps.

If you are planning to purchase contact Rockys pawn in Eustis Fl,352 589 5075.6 weeks ago they had 3,around the 400 range, they have been there since the first of the year. Nordic Pawn in Wildwood Fl.352 748 2210 had one about the same time don't recall the price. both have emails,I had their ph# over the desk. I don't remember if they are the SAME as you described but they were all Savage 24's During the past year I have seen several in flea markets, but they seem more expensive than some of the other models I have seen. Don't forget gunshows. Good Luck,I'd rather loose everything in a fire or sinkhole than by a thief.
