hello all. congrats on the new forum. what a surpise to see this new year. i posted once or twice on the old one and always got help! anyway i have a savage that i got from my dad when he passed. its all original, but has features from different models of the 24. in essence, its a 24 field grade(22lr/.410 24" barrel series P) but the field grade according the diagrams/adverts on the FAQ page didnt have a folding leaf rear sight. this gun does. the problem i am having is even though the rear sight is as high as i can get it, the rounds out of the 22 are still way high. aound 12" above my aiming point at 50 yards. im not expecting the gun to be a tack driver but to completely aim below/off the target to hit the target is quite the pain. any ideas on how to raise the rear sight more? the front blade sight looks totally unadjustable. its on the bracket that holds the 2 barrels together at the muzzle end. thanks for any help tim

...even though the rear sight is as high as i can get it, the rounds out of the 22 are still way high. You need to lower the rear sight to lower the point of impact.

Finally! A question I can answer, and I was too late....but I'll add to the already correct answer: 1) Move the rear sight in the direction you want to move the impact, e.g., move the sight down to move the impact point down; 2) Move the front sight in the opposite direction you want to move the impact (e.g., move the sight right to change the impact to the left.
