One other thing, don't forget the blue locktite on the base screws after you get the scope/mounts where you want them.

Good info, and looks like a good product to fit the hump of the 24 rimfire barrel. This mount has some of the qualities of an old mount that I have used several times, with a few nicer elements as well. This mount is aluminum as was mine which makes it easier to remove material if needed. This mount, unlike mine, already has an area of thin cross section allowing it to be drawn in very tight on the grooves. Hex head screws are small but better than small flat slotted screws. So here's my question: have you fired a 3-inch shell with the scope attached? Did it put your eye out? Okay, sorry, did it move, at all? I'd bet that if you took your time and used some good common sense that it help up o the blast just fine. And I hope that maybe you can give us a report, and maybe even a picture or two.
And so Cas- if this mount indeed works then might I suggest that this is the kind of info that could be put into an FAQ, a product that works well although no one is in any way shape or form telling someone else to ignore the warning that the manufacturer has marked on the barrel. The BKL mount is another that appears to work very well. Possibly I might be able to find out what the make and model of my mounts are and that would be another to put on the list in an FAQ. Just a thouht on one way to provide info while also abiding by the "scope on shotgun" statement.

What someone needs to do is buy one of these mounts, test it fully for some time, take lots of pictures and do a little write up on it. <cough>desperately needed website content</cough>

Guys, I plan on beginning field testing the rig next weekend. Yes, the mount draws in tight, and with a heavy hand on the hex bit screwdriver, I was able to make full use of the mount. Of course, time will tell...... I removed the elevator from the rear sight in order to slip the base as far forward as I could. Not absolutely necessary, but I wanted the front ring a little more in the center of the tube, past the elevation cap.
I bought the mount with the intention of possibly removing material from the center of the mount to allow clearance of the .22mag barrel, but found it was not necessary.
I put an old period Bushnell Scopechief (Japan, made by Bausch & Lomb) that I had lying around. The 1.5-5x will work nicely considering the range I will be using the rifle, and the straight tube objective is pleasing to the eye for the 24. Let me see if I can muster up some pics.

If this has held up well this is probably the mount I will use. I have identical gun. Like the gun but not the sights.
