This 24S-E looks great. I have one identical to it - except mine is a .22LR on top. I am going to re-blue my barrel, as it has some minor rust splotches on it.
Question - does the rear sight slide off, frontward or rearward, or does it pop off, as in taking a flat bladed screwdriver from the side?
I'll post some pics after I get it cleaned up!

I've got the same gun made in '71. I guess the wood was always that light in color. Mine is not in nearly as good shape. Thinking about doing something creative with Durakote or Ceracote or something. Needs re-bluing. Rear sight I am a little puzzled with myself. Is that a 22 scope attached to this one or something more substantial? I bought mine at an estate sale a few years ago. Not a great deal but I like the gun. Would rather have a 22lr or 357 rifle barrel.

I have not seen these bases, most are tall ugly blocks... These seem nice and lo profile. Do you know the brand and where you got them?
