Hello guys!
Its a "B" Series 24V 30-30 over 20ga.
Well its taken a lot longer then I expected and it needed a bit more work that I expected. But I love this stuff and was able to do most in just a couple days.
The stocks actually have pretty nice figure. The fore end should not have left factory but things where different in 1950 and these where not top shelf guns either... The forend has a lot of sap wood and is almost blond on its lower half. The butt was chopped crooked and the angle is off. It feels OK but astatically looks a bit odd. I re ordered a .600 thick pad to make it up. For now I just fit the factory replacement plastic butt plate. The finish is two coats of Tru-oil.
It came with a Tasco 4X in a std weaver base and cheapo rings. BTW, this gun was likely quite inaccurate for the PO... the rings where finger loose, as was base to barrel. The ring bases where OK but I like them a bit tighter. The scope would move with hand pressure in the rings.
I don't much care for shoot thru bases... But I acknowledge they do have there place where dual siting systems are required. SO these are a set of Iron Siters base/ring combos with a early '60's Bushnell Banner Post 1.5-4X 20 scope.
Here it is as I received it.

Love your setup, I'd be sorely tempted to slap some peep sights on it and ditch the scope. Looking forward to hearing some feedback on your small game loads. Don't sweat the trigger guard, gives it character, kinda reminds me of the old Trade Guns.

I like the scope, NT the high mounts... Would love a peep!!
I fixed the butt plate. The P.O. had chopped it at a odd angle. It did not feel aweful, but did not feel right.
I STILL haven't had time to go shoot it... curse of the working man... Last week (over 7 days) I averaged almost 14 hours days. ;( CW

Tonight my 24V got a new scope.
It had a old Bushnell Banner 1x4 variable post reticule. It was nice, but the gun deserved better glass... Leupold VX II 2x7x33 Matte Shotgun scope. Mounted on a Weaver base and in lo Leupold PRW rings.
I deal with regulation later.

Nice looking 24! I have one on my bucket list, along with a drilling combo, Wild West Guns CoPilot .457, .375 bolt gun, .460 S&W, AR type in .308, etc. etc. Have you shot for groups yet?

"I just shot mine the other day when I was at the range with my Gran-Daughter and her 22LR KSA Crickett....Only got to shoot the 22WMR on mine as they said no shotgun shooting at our local range but I'll be damned that after we got there the sign said you could shoot slugs and I left all mine at home,LoL.......Maybe next time I'll shoot a couple rounds of 20G(slugs) while we are there now that I know you can......I can say that the 22WMR shot pretty dang nice......Her little Crickett 22LR shot pretty nice too.....Hope you get a chance to go try yours out soon.
