G'day combo shooters. First thing I pack to travel outback is my model 24 savage 22/20 g. with 410 adapter. I travel 4x4 with off road caravan ( trailer ) to remote desert and mountain country and m24 is perfect for rabbits, nasty snakes and decoying foxes.

It sounds like a nice combo for what you do. I've always wanted to go to Australia. In fact, in my younger years, I often thought about moving there. I'm a retired electrician and thought work would not be difficult to find. You guys have lots of Out Back to enjoy. I would think my .357 Max/20 would be perfect there. .38s for bunnies, mags for fox and dingos and the max for deer etc.
Enjoy.

Nice! Welcome! Where in Australia are you located? We visited Sydney and Perth areas many years ago.

Based in Sydney but I tour about the eastern states mostly. I intend visiting Perth again maybe next year. My model 24 I bought with the proceeds of the gun buy-back ( really just confiscation with some cash back ) after they registered then confiscated all semi autos ( I forfeited two Browning A5's & a .22 auto, so watch yourselves Mates ! ) Mine is a parkerised M24 & is also great for small pigs with 20 G. buck or letter shot and works similarly with daytime stalking of kangaroos, ]if you have a permit], the 20 gauge works well by head shooting. Young Kangaroo is fat-free and roasted backstraps taste a bit like venison, and roos are very common in the bush.

This may be inappropriate for this thread; if so, cas feel free to move it or delete it.
But a brief history observation: both the US and Australia were former British colonies, but the US, of course, broke completely free, while Australia remains in the British Commonwealth to this day, and still appears to have much closer ties to the motherland.
Brits are quick to condemn gun violence....and thus gun ownership....in the US, forgetting that it was the egregious behavior and actions of the British royalty and government that inspired the US Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment, that's part of our constitution.
So while I don't disregard your warning (thanks!), our "right to bear arms" is legally stronger, especially thanks to recent Supreme Court decisions.
And what happened in Australia is a good reminder: we need to remain ever vigilant.

Of course if you have a communist as president, who doesn't believe in the constitution and see's it only as a minor inconvenience, if that…..
Oops. Forgot my own no politics rule. Lets consider that portion on the thread closed.
